Audioroot eSMART TINY-C Ultra Compact USB-C Smart Battery Charger
Charge your Audioroot smart batteries using a USB-C PPS power supply
The Audioroot eSMART TINY-C is an ultra-compact smart battery charger that turns your USB-C PPS-compatible power supply or charger into a full-featured charger for your Audioroot eSMART Li-xxWh and NEO batteries. Small enough to disappear into a pouch, clever enough to charge at up to 4.0 amps — the TINY-C is the pocket-sized brain that sits between your USB-C power source and your battery.
What is USB-C PPS — and why is it so powerful?
PPS stands for Programmable Power Supply, one of the most advanced charging standards built into the USB Power Delivery (USB-PD 3.0) specification.
With a traditional charger, you can only pick from a handful of fixed voltage steps — 5 V, 9 V, 15 V, 20 V — and the charger decides the rest. PPS changes the rules: it allows the voltage and current to be adjusted in real time, in fine steps, while charging is in progress.
Why that matters for your batteries:
Precise charging control — Instead of forcing the battery to fit a fixed voltage, PPS lets the charger deliver exactly the voltage the battery asks for, moment to moment. The charge profile follows the battery instead of the other way around.
Real-time adjustment — As the battery fills up, the TINY-C continuously renegotiates the power it draws from the supply, matching the optimal charging current and voltage at every stage of the charge cycle.
One standard, endless flexibility — A compliant USB-C PPS power supply can become your battery charger. Travel light: the same charger that tops up your laptop can top up your eSMART batteries.
In short: the USB-C PPS power supply does all the heavy lifting, and the TINY-C is the brain that controls it. The TINY-C monitors the battery's charging parameters and state of charge (SoC) in real time, telling the power supply exactly what the battery needs at every moment.
Blue OLED display — everything at a glance
A beautiful blue OLED screen shows you, in real time:
- Charging current
- Battery voltage
- Battery capacity (%)
- Cycle count
- Estimated charging time remaining
No guessing, no surprises. You always know exactly where your battery stands.
Programmable end-of-charge — charge to what your battery needs
A unique feature of the TINY-C: with a simple button press, you choose the maximum charge level of your battery. This puts you in control of your battery's long-term health, storage state, and travel compliance.
| Charge limit | Best for |
|---|---|
| 100% (default) | Maximum runtime — get the most out of every charge |
| 80% | Everyday longevity — limits cell stress and preserves battery life when full capacity isn't needed for the job |
| 60% | Long-term storage — the ideal charge state for extended storage periods |
| 30% | Air travel — comply with airline regulations for lithium batteries on airplanes |
Charging to 80% instead of 100% dramatically reduces the stress on lithium battery cells, extending their usable lifespan. And when you fly, the 30% limit takes the guesswork out of airline compliance.

Important note on the programmable charge limit
The TINY-C only charges — it never discharges.
If your battery’s current SoC is already above your set limit (e.g., 60 % with a 30 % limit), the TINY-C will stop charging immediately and will not lower the battery’s charge. The battery remains at its present level until used or charged again.
Power supply requirements
A USB-PD 3.0+ PPS-compatible USB-C power supply is required to operate the TINY-C. It will not work with standard USB-C PD that only delivers fixed profiles (5 V, 12 V, 15 V, 20 V).
Note that some smaller USB-C chargers, although PPS-compatible, only cover a lower voltage range (e.g., 3.3–6.0 V) — these are not compatible with the TINY-C, as it requires the PPS voltage to go up to 20.0 V to operate. The TINY-C has been mainly tested with 65 W and higher USB-C PPS power supplies.
You can run 2 × TINY-C from a single USB-C PPS power supply/charger, but we recommend a 200 W+ supply in that case. For best compatibility and fastest charging, choose a 100 W+ USB-C PPS PSU.
