DPA Microphones | Brand of the Month

Sep 02,2024 | Pinknoisesystems

We're working closely with DPA Microphones this month, offering discounts on all DPA products for this month only! We're also planning something very special this month with DPA Microphones so stay tuned! 👀

DPA Microphones History from the 1950's to 2024

DPA Microphones is built on over six decades of expertise, when Brüel & Kjær developed the first precise measurement microphones. Their legacy traces back to the 1950s when Brü el & Kjær, pioneered the first microphone. The  4006 Omnidirectional Microphone.

With these skills, DPA reduced the capsule size into a miniature form that delivered clear sound while remaining unobtrusive, making it ideal for creative expression on stage. After perfecting the capsule, they began developing headset versions of the miniature mics. Following years of shared success, DPA and Muphone merged in 2005.

DPA introduced a game-changing new technology in 2017. CORE by DPA was introduced in the miniature lavalier and headset capsules. This preamplifier technology minimises distortion and expands the dynamic range!

After the successful release of the 2017, DPA Microphone AIR1 was released earlier this year, the Universal Miniature Fur Windscreen.  The first layer of protection is a new acoustic fur, designed with synthetic hair that’s shorter, denser, and more effective, reducing windscreen size without losing wind rejection. The second layer is an air cavity in front of the microphone, maintained by two arches that keep the fur spaced away, ensuring consistent air volume.
