Rycote HC-22 Shotgun Microphone

The HC-22 is a high-quality hypercardioid shotgun microphone (22cm Long Directional Mono Mic w/ 3-pin XLR Connection) designed for a wide range of applications in cinema, TV, ENG, live broadcast, sound design, studio and field recording. This mic offers performance equal to or better than many of the more expensive professional microphones, while also offering a self-noise level lower than almost any equivalent sized shotgun mic at any price.

The HC-22 combines a highly directional polar pattern with extremely low self-noise. This provides solid off-axis rejection and isolation with a precise sound quality to match, making the HC-22 a great all around mic for recording environments which may require a more focused recoding approach.

This microphone reproduces an accurate reflection of what is being recorded. The mic offers a crisp sound with some additional warmth. How warm will vary ear-to-ear but the mics are somewhere in the middle — not quite as warm as a really warm mic and far from sounding sterile.

Description

The Modular Windshield Kit is the professionals' choice when maximum isolation from wind and handling noise is required.

This complete modular system can be configured to allow almost any microphone to be shock-mounted and provided with varying degrees of windshielding. Components may be ordered separately, or as one of a series of kits, which simplify the selection process for many common configurations. A Modular Windshield Kit is comprised of the following three main components: Modular Suspension, Modular Windshield and Windjammer.

Modular Suspension

Our suspensions provides complete isolation against handling noise and cable-borne noises, by supporting the microphone in a cradle arrangement using Lyre suspension webs.

Windshield

The Windshield basket completely surrounds the microphone and its connector, sliding onto the Modular Suspension to provide up to 30dB of wind noise attenuation. This is the first layer of windshielding protection for your microphone.

Windjammer

The Windjammer introduced by Rycote in 1985, is high quality synthetic fur covers, designed to fit perfectly over the Modular Windshield. It gives an additional 20dB of wind noise attenuation. Fitted with a drawstring & toggle to allow snug and easy fitting. Modular Windshield Kits, including zipped Windjammer are also available on request.

Rycote 18cm SGM Foam (19/22)

The Shotgun Mic Foam is a discreet, slip-on foam windshield, designed to protect the microphone head against light wind and pop noise. Made of durable, high quality open-cell acoustic foam, these windshields offer up to 10 dB wind noise attenuation, whilst keeping high frequency loss to a minimum.

Engineered exclusively for Rycote, this high quality foam also provides excellent resistance against the damaging effects of moisture and UV light.

All our Shotgun Mic Foam Windshields can now also be fitted with an additional Rycote Foam Windjammer for a further 12 dB wind noise attenuation.
